Mentoring programmes see 11% increase in young people wanting to go to university
21 February 2012A Demos report on Mosaic mentoring programmes concluded that they offered positive outcomes for both mentors and their mentees, including raised aspirations and improved ‘soft skills’.
The mentoring programme was associated with a 10.7% increase in the likelihood of the young participants wanting to go university after the programme.
Mosaic links young people with positive role models to boost their confidence, self-efficacy and long-term employability. It provides mentoring support by inspirational role models, tailored to the needs of particular
groups: primary school students; secondary school students; and ex-offenders. Mosaic was founded by HRH the Prince of Wales in 2007.
