The aim of this course is:

To provide those of you working in schools and colleges with the ‘what’ and ‘how’ of peer support training. It will give you the opportunity to experience tried and tested activities relevant to the different peer mentoring and peer ‘supporter’ roles and explore how you can adapt them to suit your own programme. This will help you to meet element 8 of our Approved Provider Standard.

This course will help you to:

• Explore the core components of training required for peer mentors and other peer ‘supporters’
• Deliver training using methods appropriate for your specific peer mentors or peer ‘supporters’
• Determine the specific training elements related to the different roles
• Plan training to fit in with your needs and timescales
