The course’s aim:

Part B will provide you with practical guidance on how to set up and manage a safe and effective mentoring or befriending programme, from organising your matches and supervising your mentors to looking at what evaluation is.
Developed to help you meet elements 9 – 12 of our Approved Provider Standard.

This course will help you to:

• Determine your matching criteria and process
• Identify how you will manage relationships that are unsuccessful and rematch participants
• Determine what level of support is required for mentors and befrienders
• Specify what is meant by supervision of mentors and befrienders and what is involved
• Identify ways to monitor the progress of relationships
• Determine what is meant by evaluation and how it can help to improve your project
