The aim of this course is:
To provide you with practical guidance on how to set up and manage a safe, and effective, mentoring or befriending programme. It has been developed to help you meet elements 1-8 of our Approved Provider Standard. Part B* will cover elements 9-12
This course will help you to:
- Clarify your project’s aims
- Identify which style and model of mentoring or befriending is appropriate for your client group
- Identify key roles and responsibilities for the effective management of your project
- Establish appropriate referral and induction procedures for your clients
- Establish a rigorous recruitment, selection and screening process for volunteers
- Identify the key policies and procedures required for a safe and effective programme
