The aim of this course is:                                                                                                                           To give you the opportunity to explore what is required in designing your own tools, what you need to consider when using ‘off the shelf’ tools and the implications on your project of the tools you choose to use. This will cover elements 11-12 of our Approved Provider Standard. APS logo

This course will help you to:

  • Design and develop your own monitoring tools, such as questionnaires
  • Recognise how ‘scaling’ is used within monitoring tools and how this can  provide quantitative data from a qualitative approach
  • Consider the strengths and weaknesses of a range of ‘off the shelf’ tools and make a decision as to the suitability for use with your client groups and the outcomes you want to measure

Supporting materials: Front cover of toolkit                                                                                                     Free Monitoring and evaluating outcomes in mentoring and befriending toolkit (worth £45) and additional course materials
