Monitoring and evaluating of outcomes in mentoring and befriending: Part A*

The aim of this course is:

To take you through the first stages of monitoring and evaluation using our new interactive outcomes toolkit. Drawing on the practice of mentoring and befriending programmes across the country, the toolkit gives practical step by step guidance on how to demonstrate the difference your project makes.

It has been developed to help you meet the requirements of elements 1- 2 of our Approved Provider Standard.  Part B* supports you to meet elements 11-12.

This course will help you to:

• Define what your project aims to achieve and the intended specific outcomes for your clients
• Identify the exact differences your project makes to your clients
• Plan your monitoring and evaluation processes
• Decide on the most appropriate data collection methods which will help you to monitor the outcomes

Who should attend?

Mentoring or befriending co-ordinators or managers with little or no experience of monitoring and evaluating mentoring or befriending.  It is also appropriate for those who are applying for Approved Provider Standard accreditation who need support with elements 1, 2, 11 or 12. And it’s appropriate for those who are looking to establish a new mentoring or befriending service.
