“Getting started” courses
- Level one is our “Getting started” range of courses which are aimed at those who are new or have limited experience of mentoring and befriending
- Level two is our “Spotlight on” range of courses which are aimed at those with some experience of mentoring and befriending and looking to develop their skills and knowledge
“Getting started” courses are the essential courses to help people establish successful mentoring and befriending programmes. They cover the key management and operational aspects of safe and effective practice in mentoring and befriending programmes and the core skills that mentors and befrienders need for their roles, they include:
- NEW – Why mentoring or befriending?
- Setting up and managing a mentoring and befriending project; Part A and B (2 days)
- UPDATED – Monitoring and evaluation in mentoring and befriending
- UPDATED - Choosing your outcome measurement tools
- Safeguarding and risk management: Developing a safety management framework for mentoring and befriending
- UPDATED – Putting together a training programme for mentors or befrienders
- NEW – Developing the skills of mentors and befrienders
Many of our courses come with free toolkits and resources* and they all have comprehensive course notes and booklet included. They are also available across England and Wales. All of our trainers have extensive mentoring and befriending experience. And all courses have been designed to help your project achieve Approved Provider Standard.
