The aim of this course is:

To provide you with a structured and integrated approach to developing high quality funding applications for mentoring and befriending programmes. Developed to help you meet elements 1,2,11 and 12 of our Approved Provider Standard.

This course will help you to:

• Demonstrate the need for your project and how it will benefit the service users
• Identify the funders’ priorities and provide the information they need
• Communicate a convincing case for mentoring or befriending and express ideas clearly and coherently
• Plan and structure your project to demonstrate good value for money and achieve realistic outcomes
• Add value to your application and demonstrate how you will monitor and evaluate your project

Supporting materials:

Receive free – A 10-step funding bid development structure which includes detailed guidance notes and examples of
good practice in mentoring and befriending funding applications.

Who should attend?

People with limited experience of applying for funding and those who are new to the mentoring and befriending sector.

Trainer profile:

Neil Gardiner runs Third Sector Support Services, an independent consultancy working with voluntary sector organisations and their partners. He is an Associate of Charities Evaluation Services, an assessor for the MBF Approved
Provider Standard and he delivers training for a number of organisations including the BBC Children in Need grant programme.
