Influencing policy
MBF champions how mentoring and befriending can be used to bring about lasting change in people’s lives and strengthens the argument for continued and increased investment. By representing the mentoring and befriending community we aim to influence policymakers to invest in a sustainable future for the sector.
Our policy work is based around five priority areas:
- Community cohesion
- Children, young people and families
- Health and social care
- Offender-related
- Work
We have developed policy position papers in consultation with the sector, responded to consultations and encouraged projects to campaign and promote mentoring and befriending activity at a local level.
We want more people to get involved – what could you do?
- Join our growing network of mentoring and befriending supporters by registering for free on our website
- Join in discussions on our online forums – make sure your views are heard, share good practice and network with other projects
- Fill in our online surveys or let us know if you would be happy to be involved in telephone interviews on particular issues.
