Summary: Evaluation of a pioneering antenatal peer support programme for expectant fathers entitled ‘Hit the Ground Crawling’. The pilot was delivered in Staffordshire at three sites during the period July 2008 to December 2009. Recommends that the scheme should be strategically embedded in local provision, formally linked with maternity services, and included as part of the core antenatal offer to ensure it is available to every expectant father and is seen as an integral element of the support service for expectant parents.
