Year of publication: 2009Author: Roberts, Yvonne; Brophy, Marcia; Bacon, Nicola
Publisher: Young Foundation
Summary: This report explores the background to the government’s parenting strategy and the scope for local government to promote and develop the wellbeing of both parents and carers and their children, through their current parenting programmes. It suggests a new approach for parenting programmes, placing wellbeing at the heart of strategies to improve the wellbeing of parents, children and local communities. One recommendation is to encourage peer mentoring.
