Summary:  This report describes how peer support services for kidney patients were developed in two renal units in South London, which now have over 30 active peer supporters who have provided peer support for more than 75 patients. The report is an account of patients, clinicians and service improvement specialists working and learning together over four years to implement changes; monitor and reflect on progress; and increase their understanding of peer support and how it can best be delivered. It is intended to be a resource for those interested in developing similar services and incorporates the evaluation findings.
