Find a mentor or befriender

The directory lists lots of mentoring and befriending projects from across the country. If you want your project to appear in it, you need to become an MBF network member.

Projects that have achieved the Approved Provider Standard (APS) have the APS logo next to their name. These projects have been quality assured for safe and effective project management. Find out how to achieve APS: the national quality standard specifically for mentoring and befriending projects.

If you are interested in finding a mentor or befriender either for yourself or someone you know then search our project directory below to see if there are any suitable schemes in your area.

Also, your local authority and local infrastructure organisation (often called CVS or Voluntary Action) may produce a directory or database of local voluntary organisations so contact them to find out more. There are other organisations that may provide useful sources of information – see our How to find a mentor or befriender information sheet for more details.
