Our carbon footprint
We recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. We take an ethical and responsible approach and continuously look at ways to improve our environmental performance.
We’re currently working on improvements in the following areas:
Travel
We’re committed to reducing the amount of travel across the organisation. All staff have access to telephone and internet conferencing facilities. Therefore travel for meetings that do not need to be held on a face-to-face basis is ruled out. Where travel is essential, modes are determined by assessing environmental and financial costs.
Energy savings
We’re running a ‘Switch it off’ campaign. All of our office heaters have thermostats so we can regulate the temperature and when they need to be in use or not. Staff are encouraged to switch of lights when they’re not required and to turn off their computers at the end of the day. The last person to leave the office switches off power sockets to reduce the amount of energy that is wasted.
Recycling
We have recycling points for paper and other materials within our office which staff are actively encouraged to use. We only use recycled and recyclable products for our office supplies whenever possible. We also request that waste materials left at external meetings/events are responsibly disposed of.
